Joint Venture between school and climbing gym

HILLERØDHOLM SKOLE & GADEVANG KLATRING

THE JOINT VENTURE

In connection with Gadevang Klatring (GAK) seeking new and better facilities, a collaboration with Hillerødholm School began. The school had an older gymnasium that was difficult to utilize effectively. To meet modern sports requirements, the school had built new halls over time.

Gubbies collaborated with GAK’s board to design the climbing facilities, involving members and the board in a lengthy design process. We created a 3D model, considering daylight, room overview, and desired social interactions, including a social area to encourage user interaction.

We discussed wall design, maximizing movement quality, mat solutions, color schemes, and ambiance. This exciting process resulted in a fantastic project. It was fascinating to transform a classic 60s-70s gymnasium that now provides inspiration and valuable experiences for future conversions of similar buildings. We are proud to inspire children and young people to be active in a fun and creative way with climbing.
