Gubbies FAQ about the initial project phase of building a climbing wall or boulder

How much does a new boulder with a fall protection mats cost?

When you want to build a new boulder, the price depends on a great many different factors, so it is impossible to give a completely clear answer to a square meter price.

Here are some important areas to clarify before estimating a price:

  • The specific location. Whether the boulder is, for example, outdoors or indoors has a great impact on the choice of material and thus on the price.
  • What requirements does the municipality make in connection with a building permit
  • What is the mounting base? - i.e. what can the boulder be mounted on the wall and in the substrate?
  • Your own reconciliation of expectations in relation to the type of climbing you want - what is the possible and desired capacity? How many and what types of climbing holds, macros and volumes do you imagine?
  • The extent and type of the fall base depends on your own reconciliation of expectations in relation to the type of climbing you want.

If you are considering building a new boulder, it is a good idea to start by investigating and clarifying the above.

If there are areas you cannot find a solution for yourself, you can get professional advice from Gubbies. We also help you estimate a square meter price, so you have an estimate of what your bouldering project will cost.
